Near Whistler’s recreational trail network, this modern mountain house with a warm palette and strong design details was decorated for the 17th annual Home for the Holidays virtual tour. The playful character of the young and active family home was amped up with a dreamy snow-globe aesthetic that reflected the real-world winter wonderland of a classic ski village.
Cedar boughs and pinecones were brought inside and used to adorn the home. These natural and timeless trimmings stir all the senses—from the scent of fresh foliage to the organic and raw beauty of wood, linen-wrapped presents, and felt ornaments. The soft sparkle of hundreds of monochromatic lights was complemented by the glow of candles and wood-burning fireplace. Overflowing preserves, seasonal fruits, nuts and roasted chestnuts were the centrepiece of the festive table. Natural blooms and dried-flower arrangements adorned unexpected corners, including a sculptural branch, minimally decorated with white winter flowers, that became a striking focal point overlooking the main staircase.
Layered with everyday luxurious decor, the simple holiday elegance easily transitioned to a quieter winter vibe in the new year that then continued to celebrate the snowy season in the mountains.
